Course description

The discipline “Balanced Nature Management” is  an elective course in the specialty 101 “Ecology” for EPP masters, which is taught in the first year in the II semester in the amount of 3 credits (according to the European Credit Transfer System ECTS). The course is designed to provide students with the necessary knowledge required to develop the necessary skills and abilities to understand the balanced and sustainable use of nature.

The purpose of studying the discipline is: the formation of theoretical knowledge, practical skills and abilities in the field of organization and control over the use of natural resources and environmental components; assessment of the levels of negative impact of anthropogenic pressure on them; development of scientifically sound recommendations for environmental protection and restoration measures.

After completing this course the student will know: the basics of sustainable nature management; scientific and methodological support of the nature management system; regulatory and legislative framework for environmental protection and restoration; modern methods of rational use of natural resources, basic types and conditions of nature use; current state, sources of pollution, purposes, usage of air, land, forest, water, mineral, climatic, recreational, biological resources; basic principles and methods of rational use and protection of natural resources.
