Pre-university training
In 2012, by combining the Institute of Postgraduate Education and the Faculty of Pre-University Preparation, the Institute of Postgraduate Education and Pre-University Preparation was formed. In the structure of the Centre for Pre-University and Certification Education there are preparatory courses, the department of pedagogical and certification education.
Since the introduction of the activity of preparatory courses in 1957 their main goalhas been preparing applicants for admission to the Ivan Franko National University of L’viv and assisting in the choice of the future specialty. In this regard, the Centre organizes Open Door Days at faculties, colleges and the Institute of Postgraduate Education and Pre-University Preparation, conducts vocational guidance work at general education institutions, organizes excursions for future entrants to the University, etc. Students of the preparatory courses of the Centre are students of secondary schools, technical schools, lyceums, gymnasiums, as well as those who already have secondary education. Citizens of Ukraine, while studying in preparatory courses, have the opportunity to raise the level of knowledge in school disciplines and prepare for external independent evaluation. The Centre also organizes branches of preparatory courses on the basis of comprehensive secondary educational institutions, which have agreements on cooperation with the University, in L’viv region and beyond.
Since 2012, the Department of Pedagogical and Certified Education has been successfully operating within the Centre.Its task is to organize and conduct courses for teachers of secondary schools and higher educational institutions of the I-II level of accreditation, as well to organize and conduct educational courses of German, Greek, English, Spanish and Polish languages; information technologies; re-training on radiation safety; preparation of arbitration managerson the basis of the Institute with the involvement of teachers of the profile departments of the University. This department is also engaged in organizing internships at the departments of the University for teachers of higher educational institutions of Ukraine of ІІІ-IV level of accreditation.
To enroll in preparatory courses, you must conclude an agreement and submit:
- a certificate from the place of study;
- 2 photos in the size of 3 × 4 cm;
- a copy of the birth certificate or passport;
- a copy of the receipt for the tuition fee payment;
- one parent’s passport data.
The cost of training depending on the type of courses varies from 416 to 1268 UAH.
Up to 20 points will be added according to the results of the final attestation of the individuals who have completed the preparatory courses of the University in the year of their admission to enter this higher educational institution on the basis of complete secondary education to study at the natural and mathematical or engineering and technical directions of training upon entry to the corresponding direction of the University
