At the Department of Geography of Ukraine, professors of the Department of Geography of Ukraine and Regional Studies of the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, V. O. Dzaman (head of the Department) and M. D. Zayachuk, began their internships. Both departments, in Lviv and Chernivtsi, arose on the wave of national revival in 1990 and still maintain close academic ties.

The book “Geography and Cartography of Vynnyky land” by Andrii Baitsar, associate professor of the Department of Geography of Ukraine, was published.
