Course description

Assessment of lands and soils  is a discipline of professional and practical masters training in the specialty 103 “Earth Sciences” of the educational program “Applied Soil Science and Land Assessment”. It is taught in the second semester in the amount of 3 credits (according to the European Credit Transfer System ECTS).

The purpose of the discipline “Assessment of soils and lands” is to provide students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills of assessing soils and lands for various purposes as a means of production and object of labor, the spatial basis of all economic activities.

The acquired knowledge and practical skills will allow students to calculate the points of creditworthiness of agricultural land groups, the normative value of land for various purposes, which is the basis for establishing the rate of land tax, planning agricultural production, determining the value of land in natural resources, etc.
