Participation of representatives of the Department of Geography of Ukraine in the “Autumn School of Urban Studies”

From September 20 to 28, Andriy Veremchuk, a student of the Department of Geography of Ukraine studying at the educational program “Urban Studies, Spatial Planning and Regional Development”, and Vladyslav Morgatskyi, a Ph-D student, participated in the “Autumn School of Urban Studies”.

This is a project of professional training of students and young specialists using international practices in spatial planning and urbanism and applying them to real world examples, which is conducted by the City Institute together with Eberhard-Schöck-Stiftung, Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture and ProUrban.

A total of 16 students from Lviv and Kyiv participated in the urban planning school this year, who improved their knowledge of urban planning and spatial planning by exploring Maiorivka, one of the neighborhoods of Lviv. They presented the results of the study, which included a detailed analysis of the neighborhood and proposals for the elaboration of a Strategy for its integrated development, on Monday, September 28, in the office of “Institute of the City”.
Prof. Roman Lozynskyy also participated in the final meeting.

The Department of Geography of Ukraine thanks the Institute of the City, other organizers and teachers of the “Autumn School of Urban Studies” for the opportunity to participate in the event and exchange experience on issues of spatial planning.
