Course description

“Fundamentals of Hospitality” is an elective course for students majoring in “Tourism” educational program for bachelors, which is taught in the 5th semester in the amount of 3 credits (according to the European Credit Transfer System ECTS).

The purpose of the discipline is to form a system of knowledge about the development of hospitality in Ukraine and the world. The objectives of the discipline “Fundamentals of Hospitality” are to study the general concepts of the basics of hospitality: hotel, resort and restaurant business, as well as to acquaint students with the basics of management and marketing in the tourism industry.

Students get acquainted with the legal framework for the creation, registration and organization of the tourist enterprise in the field of hospitality. They study the history of the origin and development of hospitality in the world and in Ukraine.
