Course description

Discipline “Methods of Geoecological Research” is a normative discipline in the specialty 101 “Ecology” for EPP bachelors, which is taught in the fourth year in the VIII semester in the amount of 4 credits (according to the European Credit Transfer System ECTS).

The course is designed to provide students with the necessary knowledge required to carry out science-intensive practice-oriented activities when writing term papers, bachelor and master theses.

The purpose of studying the discipline is to form a holistic view of geo-ecological research as a kind of science-intensive practice-oriented activities, laying the foundation for further professional self-improvement.

Upon completion of this course the student will know: the most important methods of geoecological research; basic types, properties and methods of information and data analysis; transdisciplinary significance, system of methods and structure of geoecological research; features of the organization and content of expeditionary and stationary geoecological research; the role of applied geoecological research in the implementation of sustainable landscape management; applied significance of geoecological research for the formation of programs for sustainable development of territories and nature protection.
