Course description

The discipline “Methods of geo-ecological research” is a special course in the speciality Geography of internal specialization “Nature Protection and Sustainable Nature Management” for the bachelor’s degree, which is taught in the 5th semester in the amount of 3 credits (according to the European Credit Transfer System ECTS).

The purpose of studying the discipline is to master the basic methods and techniques of geo-ecological research as a type of practice-oriented scientific activity, and to lay the foundation for further independent research, as well as for professional self-improvement.

After completing this course students will know: methods of geo-ecological research, the content and features of the organization of geo- ecological research. The students will be able to choose a system of methods and structure of geo-ecological research, depending on the purpose of the study and tasks, to find and analyze information and statistics for geo-ecological research, to make documentation and work with it during field geo-ecological research, to summarize information in the form of thematic maps and text reports.
