Course description
“Geoecological research of basin systems” is an elective course for students majoring in Earth Science (Geography), an educational and professional Bachelor’s program, which is taught in the 8th semester in the amount of 3 credits (according to the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System ECTS).
The river basin is a special spatial unit of the biosphere, the most promising for multi-purpose study of nature and economy, planning the economic use of the territory and more. That is why there is a need to teach students to conduct comprehensive geo-ecological research of the selected river basin in order to optimize the use of nature within it, to determine the types of basin systems for the main types of economic use; carry out hydrochemical and hydromorphological assessment of the quality of watercourses in the basin system.
