Course description

The course “Adaptation to Climate Change” is a normative discipline in the cycle of professional and practical training for all specialities of the educational program for master’s degree in the field of geography.

The aim is to form the ability to develop measures for adaptation to climate change in leading sectors of the economy based on the knowledge of the theory of global climate change and modern manifestations of climate change. During the course “Adaptation to Climate Change” students will acquire the necessary knowledge and skills which are necessary to further understanding of the impact of global climate change on the economy and they will be able to develop measures to adapt different sectors of the economy to climate change. The course provides an overview of modern theoretical concepts of global climate change. Students study the effects of global warming on leading sectors of the economy, examples of national policies according to the adaptation to climate change in different economies, opportunities and obstacles to the implementation of such adaptation measures in Ukraine.
