Presentation of vacancies for internships of students of the tourism department from the representatives of the international tourist operator

On February 18 and 19, 2020, representatives of the international tourist operator TUI (Touristik Union International) met with students and faculty of the Department of Tourism at the Geography Department in the audience # 7. The meeting was held by TUI international regional executives Hassan Keskin and SezginAkpinar and was dedicated to internship programs and training and production practices in Turkey for students of Tourism and Hospitality majors. The event was attended by students of 2nd, 3rd, 4th year and teachers of the department – Pankiv Nataliia, Bezruchko Lyubomyr, Bordun Oresta, Hamkalo Mykhailo, MasiukYuliia, Bilous Sofiia, Krasko Anna, Hataliak Oksana, Bilaniuk Olha.

German international tourist operator TUI is a leader in the Western European tourism market, serving more than 20 million tourists every year. More than 67,000 employees operate in TUI offices in different countries in Europe, and today, 6 airlines (150 aircraft), 16 ocean liners and more than 300 hotels in 30 countries operate in the global tourist market under the auspices of TUI.

A seminar-presentation was held for students, during which future tourism specialists had the opportunity to get acquainted with the activities of the international tourist operator, the structure of the TUI Group holding, the main directions of its work, as well as the geographical, natural, historical and cultural features of the territory of the modern Republic of Turkey. They also raised the requirements for future staff, the responsibilities of the group leader during the tourist trip, the particularities of working with tourists and guides along the route. At the meeting, the terms of internship of students in the positions of “Transfer guide”, “Excursion guide”, “Shop guide”, “Receptionist” in hotel and holiday complexes (Antalya, Alanya, Belek, Kemer, Side, Marmaris, etc.) were discussed. The list of requirements for trainees and the conditions that will be guaranteed to students during the internship are defined. It also provides for the selection of other types of office work (call center, tourist department, etc.). Potential trainees are offered free lodging, 3 years’ meals and the opportunity to choose a specific profession during the internship training program. After the internship, each intern receives a certificate of international standard.

– students over 18 can participate in the internship;
– Insurance, flight, accommodation and 3 meals a day are paid by TUI;
– internship includes 8 hours working day (non-fixed), additional working hours are paid by the company under the contract.
