Course description

«Active Tourism» is an optimal discipline for bachelors majoring in the «Tourism» educational program. It is taught in the 4th term in the amount of 4 credits (according to the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System, ECTS).  The curriculum of the course includes considering historical preconditions for active tourism development, organization peculiarities of various active tourism types, ski resort infrastructure, accident prevention essentials and medical care basics, organization of rescue operations, etc. Having fulfilled the course requirements, students will be able to develop tourist routes with different ways of travelling,  arrange basing and food supplies during a tourist trip, orient themselves with the help of maps, compasses and GPS.
