On May 29, 2025, Associate Professor of the Department of Geoecology and Physical Geography Anatoliy Smaliychuk took part in the training “Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management” (in a remote format).
He delivered a presentation on the topic “Multi-hazard Risk Assessment: Natural and Man-Made Hazards”, in which he presented methodological approaches and provided examples of such an assessment using GIS technologies, remote sensing data and considering climate change and the war factors in Ukraine.
The training took place on May 26-29 in the city of Rzeszow (Poland) for representatives of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and was jointly organized by the Peace Operations Training Centre (Slovenia) and the European Security and Defence College (Belgium).
