Honored Professor of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Laureate of Ivan Franko International Prize, Honorary Member of the T. Shevchenko Scientific Society.
He was born on November 14, 1935 in Western Podillya in the family of a farmer. He defended his doctoral dissertation in 1978.
He has published about eight hundred scientific and popular science works, including 12 textbooks and manuals, 10 atlases, including 1 fundamental atlas of Lviv (2012), 52 monographs and brochures as well as collections of scientific works (including materials of scientific conferences). He substantiated about a hundred scientific ideas, concepts, principles etc.
