Course description

The discipline «Land resources management» is an initial normative discipline for students of the speciality 106 Geography of the educational program of bachelor’s degree, which is taught in the 3rd year in the VIth semester in the amount of 4 credits (according to the European credit transfer system ECTS).

The course is designed to acquaint students with the basic classification units of land resources and lands, the role of management mechanisms in the regulation of land relations in Ukraine.

The purpose of the discipline is to acquaint students with the importance of land resources in human life, to study classification units of land and their diagnostic features, features of the land market and the prevailing areas of land protection; to study the basic principles and mechanisms of land management; to acquaint students with the basic legislative and normative documents regulating management of land resources.

After completing this course the student will know: the principles of land management; land management functions; landscape and ecological aspects of land management. The students will be able to collect, summarize and analyze information about the current state of land use; to develop innovation and investment projects of land tenure reform, land use; to make management decisions according to the development of the land market and optimization of its infrastructure.
