Course description
Soil protection is an elective discipline for students majoring in “Earth Sciences (Geography)” of the educational program for masters. It is taught in the 3rd semester in the amount of 3 credits (according to the European Credit Transfer System ECTS).
The course “Soil Protection” highlights one of the most topical issues of society – soil protection. This problem is extremely relevant in the field of soil science, ecology, agriculture, without its solution the life of people and the existence of society is impossible.
The main causes and conditions of the manifestation of destructive processes in the soils of Ukraine are considered on the modern conceptual basis. Centered on the latest achievements of domestic and foreign scientists, there are highlighted the modern methods of forecasting the processes of erosion and soil degradation, as well as methods of preventing and fighting them, there are also suggested the estimations of the levels of assessment of the manifestation of degradation processes. The study of soil protection and conservation measures is given.
