Course description

The scientific seminar of lands is a normative discipline for the applicants of Specialty 103 “Earth Sciences” of the educational program for the doctor’s degree. It is taught in 1-7 semesters in the amount of 4 credits (according to the European Credit Transfer System ECTS).

The course is designed to provide graduate students with the appropriate knowledge and skills necessary and required for the final stage of scientific work on the topic of the dissertation and to successfully conduct a preliminary defense and defend a PhD thesis in a specialized academic council. The final content of the dissertation is considered and discussed. The course outlines the scientific concepts on which dissertation research is based, covers research methods, the main results obtained in the process of field and laboratory research.
