Course description

“Local Lore and Tourism” is a selective discipline in the specialty 014 Geography for the educational program for the preparation of a Bachelor of education (Geography), a teacher of geography, which is taught in the 5th semester in 5 credits (according to the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System ECTS). The content of the course is focused on the scientific study of the native land through the prism of its identity.

The aim of studying the elective discipline “Local Lore and Tourism” is the formation of Bachelors’ professional competencies in the implementation of comprehensive scientific research of local lore, synthesis of knowledge about natural and social phenomena, their interaction in a limited area, where these phenomena are most affected by local conditions, improving skills to create the local lore and tourist routes and qualified elaboration of scientific local lore literature.

The most important tasks are as follows: deepening the theoretical professional training of Bachelors in the field of national local lore; mastering modern practical skills for local history and tourism work at school.

After completing the course, the applicant will be able to work with scientific sources of tourist and local lore research, conduct tourist and local lore research of the region and draw up the results of geographical and local lore research, develop tourist and local lore routes.
