Course description

The discipline “Land Resources Management” is an initial normative discipline for students of the speciality 103 Earth Science (Geography) of the educational program of bachelor’s degree, which is taught in the fourth year in the VIIIth semester in the amount of 4 credits (according to the European Credit Transfer System ECTS).

The course is designed to acquaint students with the basic classification units of land resources and lands, the role of management mechanisms in the regulation of land relations in Ukraine.

The purpose of the discipline is to acquaint students with the importance of land resources in human life, the peculiarities of the land market, the study of basic principles and mechanisms of land resources management.

After completing this course the student will know: the principles of land resources management; functions of land resources management; landscape and ecological aspects of land resources management. The students will be able to collect, summarize and analyze information on the current state of land use; to develop innovation and investment projects of land tenure and land use reforms; to make management decisions according to the development of the land market and optimization of its infrastructure.
