Course description

“Environmental standardization” is a normative discipline for students of the speciality  “Ecology”, an educational program of bachelor’s degree. It is taught in the 7th semester in the amount of 3.5 credits (according to the European Credit Transfer System ECTS).

The curriculum of the course provides consideration of the theoretical and legal foundations of standardization in Ukraine, namely: the prerequisites for the emergence of standardization, the legislative and regulatory framework of the national system of standardization; sources of information support in the field of standardization; its subjects and objects; categories of normative documents and types of standards; rules for constructing normative documents and their structure; acquaints with the international and regional cooperation of Ukraine in the field of technical regulation of society. As a result of studying this discipline, the student will know: the basic provisions of the national standardization, the conceptual and terminological basis for the quality of the environment; international, regional and national organizations for standardization, metrology and certification; national, European and international standards in the field of environmental management, environmental labeling, air quality, water, soil, waste management.
