Course description

The discipline “Engineering and computer graphics in food technology” is a normative discipline of the cycle of professional and practical training courses in the specialty “181 Food technology” for the educational program of bachelors, which is taught in the 5th semester in the amount of 4 credits (according to ECTS).

The aim of the discipline is to acquaint students with the principles of the latest graphic systems development, acquisition of the algorithmic basics of two- and three-dimension graphics, acquisition of graphic images development skills with the help of such editing programs as GIMP, BLENDER, Google-app CANVAS and other.

The objectives of the discipline are also to teach students to create dynamic images and quality videos of the way of food preparation.

As a result of the scientific discipline students must know: the working environment and the instruments of modern graphic systems; possibilities of creating vector and raster graphic objects on the culinary topic; possibilities of creating animation in food technologies; peculiarities of shooting and editing food preparation videos. Students must be able to: create two- and three-dimension modelling in computer programs; do design of simple types of advertising polygraphic products on food topic; create dynamic images and video files; use modern program means to solve different applied tasks in food technology.
