The structure of the Department includes Educational Laboratory of Geo-Information Modeling and Cartography, Geodesic and Cartographic Unit, and Geography Map Library.
The Department prepares students of bachelor’s and master’s degrees programs in specializations 101 “Ecology (Applied Ecology)” and 183 “Environmental Technologies”.
At the same time, the Department provides teaching disciplines for specializations 106 “Geography”, 014 “Secondary Education”, 103 “Earth Sciences”, 241 “Hotel and Restaurant Business” and 242 “Tourism”.
Educational and professional practical workshops remain to be an important component of student training.
The Department prepares bachelors of the first level of higher education in the branch of knowledge 10 “Natural Sciences” in the specialization 101 “Ecology (Applied Ecology)”. According to the curricula, the specialists are conferred the qualification “Bachelor of Ecology. Specialist in applied ecology”.
At the same time, the Department trains masters in the specializations 101 “Ecology (Applied Ecology)” and 183 “Environmental Protection Technologies”. The qualifications of “Master of Ecology. Ecologist. Specialist in Applied Ecology” and “Master in Environmental Technologies” are conferred in these specializations.
Educational and scientific work at the Department is carried out by 10 teachers (associate professors) and two more teachers work part-time (associate professor and assistant).
The Department also employs three persons of support staff, and teaches three full-time post-graduate students.
