Course description

Objective: of the discipline ” Geography of world economy” is the formation of modern social and geographical thought and system of special knowledge of the research problems of the world’s economy as global geographic system.

The task of course is to examine the theoretical basics of geography of the world’s economy as an integrated discipline that combines substantive and spatial approaches in the global economy and territorial structure and way of functioning.

After doing the course a student has to:

know: the theory of appearance, the laws, the regularities and principles of development and allocation of the global economy, industrial and functional structure, trends in territorial organization and prospects of its development as a global geographical system.

be able to: analyze the condition of development and deployment of fuel and power resources; sectorialand functional structure of economy, trends in territorial organization, using the acquired knowledge of geographical basics of the world’s economy for the geographic analysis of contemporary global problems.
